个人简介

Leon Foo 医生于 1999 年毕业于新加坡国立大学，并取得多项研究生及专科资格，包括 2004 年获得爱丁堡皇家外科医学院会员资格（Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh）、2004 年获得骨科医学硕士（Master of Medicine in Orthopaedic Surgery），以及 2008 年获得爱丁堡皇家外科医学院骨科专科院士资格（Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in Orthopaedic Surgery）。 

2008 年，Foo 医生获得新加坡卫生部政府培训奖学金（Singapore Government Ministry of Health Training Scholarship），前往德国明斯特大学医院（Muenster University Hospital）接受骨科肿瘤学（Orthopaedic Oncology）、软骨再生与关节重建（Cartilage Regeneration & Joint Reconstruction）双重亚专科的进修培训。随后，他又前往美国梅奥诊所（Mayo Clinic，Rochester, Minnesota）进行临床进修。 

Foo 医生是新加坡少数接受过骨科肿瘤学专科进修培训的骨科肿瘤医生之一。作为多学科肿瘤团队中的外科成员，他负责参与肿瘤患者的治疗，并凭借在肿瘤组织切除及后续重建手术方面的专业知识和经验发挥重要作用。这包括针对骨肿瘤和软组织肿瘤的保肢手术，以及使用自体移植物、同种异体移植物和/或内置假体进行重建。在治疗骨及软组织肿瘤时，他不仅重视彻底切除肿瘤以达到治疗目的，也重视适当的功能重建，使患者术后能够尽可能恢复正常且积极的生活。 

除了骨科肿瘤学之外，Foo 医生还接受过软骨再生及关节重建手术的专科进修培训。他在髋关节、膝关节、足部及踝关节以及肩部疾病的治疗方面拥有丰富的临床经验，涵盖退行性（与年龄相关）、炎症、创伤及运动损伤等不同原因。他的手术技术包括最新的软骨表面重建及再生技术，以及关节置换，包括微创手术、关节镜手术、计算机导航、机器人辅助手术以及定制化植入物。 

在新加坡中央医院（Singapore General Hospital）执业期间，Foo 医生曾三次获得“Service with a Heart Award”。富有同理心、全面且以患者为中心的医疗护理，始终是 Foo 医生临床实践中最重要的理念。

背景

2010年回到新加坡后，Foo医生获任职于新加坡中央医院骨科，担任顾问医生。同时，他也受委任为新加坡国家癌症中心、竹脚妇幼医院以及陈笃生医院的客座顾问。  

除了临床工作之外，Foo医生还获委任为新加坡国立大学杨潞龄医学院的兼职助理教授，以及杜克-新加坡国立大学医学院的临床导师。他是高级创伤生命支持（Advanced Trauma Life Support）导师，并积极参与骨科外科及家庭医学住院医师培训项目，担任临床教师。Foo医生也经常受邀担任本地及国际课程和会议的讲师。此外，他也继续担任多份获PubMed收录的国际医学期刊的专家审稿人，包括《Journal of Arthroplasty》。 

医学研究是Foo医生工作的重要组成部分。他积极参与研究，并已在国际同行评审骨科期刊上发表多篇论文。凭借其临床专业知识及研究贡献，他曾获邀并持续担任多份获PubMed收录的国际医学期刊的专家审稿人，包括《Journal of Arthroplasty》、《Singapore Medical Journal》及《Annals of the Academy of Medicine of Singapore》。
